The first round of bargaining for Spring 2023 between the Polk Education Association and Polk County Public Schools wrapped up today (this round focused on language, but both teams will be back to the table to discuss salaries and benefits in May after the legislative session). The tentatively agreed to language will be coming to the Polk County School Board email of bargaining unit members this evening for your review. An explanation of the voting process will be included. Electronic ballots will be coming to work emails on Friday, February 17th, 2023 and must be completed by Tuesday, February 21st, 2023 by 5 pm. PEA recommends a “YES” vote on all three contracts (teachers, paras, and ESPs).
